Our project at Eaton Square began with a thorough site survey and client consultation, understanding the client’s aesthetic visions. Following on from this, our in house team created a detailed CAD design proposal for the client to review and approve. Our design aimed to even out the tread rises while incorporating a bullnose detail to the nosings, which was successfully approved by the client prior to production.
The next phase involved Stonecraft Masonry sourcing high quality Portland stone direct from the quarry, which was then cut precisely to our approved drawings. Once delivered to our London based workshop, our skilled stonemasons hand carved the bullnose edging, creating a beautiful detailed finish.
Our first day on site saw the installation team removing the existing Portland treads, taking great care to protect the substructure underneath. We then carried out waterproofing works to the exposed sub structure, ensuring a long term protection against any water ingress. Finally, our team cladded the substructure with new 50mm bull nosed Portland stone, creating a smooth, lasting finish that blends perfectly with Belgravia’s historic architecture.

At the end of every project, our team provides a thorough clean up service of our working areas, leaving our clients with peace of mind.

Our project in Bromley began with a thorough evaluation of a Victorian bay window, which had suffered extensive damage over time. After discussing our findings with the client, we removed the deteriorated and failed stonework and then templated, carved and installed precise replacements. Allowing us restore intricate decorative capitals, ensuring the window retained its original charm.
To ensure the structural stability of the window as well as a beautiful restoration, we used exterior filler to create sharp, crisp edges, ensuring a high quality finish. Finally, the bay window was decorated with breathable masonry paint, providing a durable and long lasting protection against the elements.
At Stonecraft Masonry, we are committed to timeless craftsmanship, with this project honouring both the structural integrity and heritage of iconic Victorian features.

Our project in Canonbury, Islington was a stunning collaboration to enhance the client’s basement access. To start, we carried out a site assessment and bespoke consultation, understanding the client's functional and aesthetic goals for the project.

The first phase of the project saw the installation of a glass window, strategically positioned to improve the flow of natural light into a basement kitchen. This thoughtful addition ensured the brightening of the space and complemented the beauty of the surrounding architecture. To elevate the entrance further, we installed LED uplighters by precision drilling into the York Stone steps, creating an impactful and ambient glow.

Stonecraft Masonry then sourced high quality York Stone directly from the quarry. Once delivered to our London based workshop, our skilled stonemasons hand carved the 50mm bullnose edges and expertly fitted them at the property.

The result was an elegant and durable staircase entrance, seamlessly blending modern design with traditional materials. As with all of our projects, we provided a full and thorough clean up, ensuring our client can enjoy their enhanced home with total peace of mind.

Our project on Holloway Road focused on restoring and enhancing a set of external steps for a client who was experiencing persistent water ingress issues. We began with an initial site survey and consultation to understand both the practical issues and the client’s desire for a hard wearing and high end finish.
After carefully assessing the existing structure, we created a CAD design proposal for their approval. This design honoured the building’s character, whilst improving the functionality and durability of the steps. Once approved, we moved on to the first phase of works: applying a liquid waterproofing system, ensuring the sub structure was fully protected against any further water penetration.
We then installed new bullnosed York Stone treads, risers and copings. Sourced directly from the York stone quarry..
With the client having approved our CAD design proposal prior to works starting, they could be confident in our ability to install the steps with complete accuracy and care.
The final result is a clean, high quality finish that resolves the original water ingress issue and also adds long term value and visual appeal. As always, we completed the project with a full site clean and handover, leaving the client with a transformed entrance.
